The web is full of posts of men in chastity who angst over airline travel. As a frequent traveler, my Dominant has shared my concern. I usual wear a stainless steel cage. However, when i have traveled in the past, my partner has replaced my steel cage with a plastic one with a plastic lock. I prefer the steel cage because it is relatively comfortable and more hygienic than the plastic cage.
i wore the the plastic cage for a week during a trip at the beginning of December, but was relieved when i returned home and my Dominant swapped it out for the steel cage. Less than a week later, i traveled again. i loathed putting the plastic cage back on and a few days before the trip i asked my Dominant to leave the steel one on. Concerned i would have trouble getting through security, she resisted, but we did not speak of the matter again. my flight was very early on Christmas morning, and i left the house for the airport while still wearing the steel cage.
i Googled what people in chastity tell the TSA when they are stopped in chastity devices. i was prepared for the worse, being taken aside, questions. i had read horror stories of the TSA forcing travelers to expose their chastity device before being allowed to pass.
I have TSA Pre clearance, so it is not necessary to remove clothing items. The airport i fly out of is relatively small, so it is only equipped with full-body metal detectors, not millimeter wave scanners or backscatter X-ray scanners. It did not surprise me when i set off the metal detector. The TSA agent who manned the detector was male and in his 40’s. i looked him in the eye and said “i have metal piercings that sometimes set metal detectors off.” He asked me to my belt, a leather Docker belt with a brass-looking metal buckle, and walk through again. i was at the same time surprised and relieved when the detector did not go off a second time.
I am writing this post while still on my trip, wondering if my first experience was a fluke or if i can expect most metal detectors to work the same way. i suppose i will find out in a few days.
